Off Camera makes short videos for you. To do that it has to keep a few things: your account, what you tell it about your product and the videos it makes. This page lists all of it, who helps us process it and how to delete it. If something here is unclear, email us and we will fix the page.
What we store
- Your account: your email address and a scrambled form of your password (we cannot read it), plus the name of each workspace you create.
- Your brand: if you give us your website, we read its public pages once and keep a short profile of the product: what it does, who it is for, the facts and numbers the writer may use. You can see and edit all of it under Brand.
- What you make: the ideas you type, the scripts, the settings you pick, the videos we render and anything you upload, such as a screen recording of your product.
- Usage: how many videos you have exported this month, so the plan limits work, and the jobs that made them.
- Payments: if you pay, Stripe handles your card. We only keep which plan you are on; your card number never reaches us.
Who helps us run it
We use a small number of services. Each only receives what it needs to do its one job:
- Anthropic (Claude) writes scripts and reads your website. It receives your idea or your site's text and your brand profile. Anthropic does not use this to train its models.
- fal runs the AI models that make AI creator and Seedance videos, only after you say yes to making one. For an AI creator video it receives the lines the creator says, the creator's photo and the voice; for a Seedance video, your words and any photos you add.
- ElevenLabs reads the script aloud for older videos with a voice. It receives the words of the script.
- Pexels supplies stock photos and clips. It receives short search phrases, never your name or email.
- Stripe takes payments, and Resend sends account emails such as password resets.
- Fly.io hosts the app and its storage in the United States.
Cookies and tracking
Two cookies keep you signed in. One holds your session and only our server can read it. The other only says whether you are signed in, so the home page can show “Open studio” instead of “Start free”. Both are needed for the app to work and both are removed when you sign out.
Your browser also remembers small preferences on your device, like which workspace you had open, the email you last signed in with and whether you paused motion on the home page.
We count a few product events in our own database, such as an account being created or a first video being exported, to see where people get stuck. They are never sent to anyone else. There are no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers.
What we never do
- We never post anything to your social accounts on our own.
- We never sell, rent or share your data for anyone else's marketing.
- We never use your videos or uploads in our own marketing without asking you first.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
Everything is kept while your account exists. Delete a video and its files go with it. Delete a workspace, or your whole account from Settings, and every script, render and upload in it is removed from our storage straight away. Backups roll off within 30 days.
Delete your account any time in Settings › Account. It takes effect immediately.
For a copy of your data, a correction or anything else, email hello@offcamera.co from the address on your account.
Waitlist
If you joined the waitlist before launch, we kept your email address, when you joined and the site that sent you. We only use it to tell you Off Camera is open. Ask us and it is deleted.
Age
You need to be at least 13, or older where your country's law requires it, to use Off Camera.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. Anything that matters, like a new service receiving your data, is emailed to you before it happens.
